“BREAKING: Wildcats Target SEC Star Receiver to Instantly Supercharge Young Wideout Room!”

Kentucky football is looking to bolster its wide receiver corps with immediate-impact talent, as Auburn standout Malcolm Simmons reportedly has drawn interest from the Wildcats, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

A 2024 recruit from Alexander City, Ala., Simmons saw significant action as a true freshman at Auburn under Hugh Freeze, logging 292 offensive snaps and finishing with 40 receptions for 451 yards, including a punt return touchdown. In his sophomore season, he recorded 25 catches for 457 yards and three total touchdowns.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Simmons is expected to enter the transfer portal next month, creating a competitive SEC recruiting scenario. Kentucky, led by new head coach Will Stein, offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, and wide receivers coach Joe Price III, is reportedly eager to host a visit.

The Wildcats already have depth at wide receiver with veterans Ashton Cozart (6-3, 197, RJr.) and Hardley Gilmore IV (6-1, 183, Jr.) alongside promising underclassmen DJ Miller and Cameron Miller. While Kentucky added five high school signees during the early signing period, the staff is clearly targeting an experienced, SEC-ready playmaker.

Adding Simmons would give Kentucky a proven weapon and help accelerate the development of younger receivers. With the portal opening soon, the Wildcats are positioning themselves as strong contenders to land the versatile receiver and enhance their offensive firepower heading into the 2026 season.
