The Cardinals have elevated top outfield prospect Travis Honeyman to High-A Peoria this week following his red-hot start to the season with Low-A Palm Beach after an impressive Spring Training.
Travis Honeyman is poised to make his High-A debut following his recent promotion.
Travis Honeyman, selected by the Cardinals in the third round of the 2023 draft, earned a promotion to High-A Peoria after an excellent start with Low-A Palm Beach. Over 29 games, he slashed .321/.446/.443, tallying 5 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs, 7 stolen bases, and 20 walks. A former standout at Boston College, Honeyman was due for a greater challenge, as he was roughly two years older than the average player at Low-A.
Starting the year in Palm Beach was a cautious but logical move, considering Honeyman was limited to just 20 games in 2023 due to shoulder injuries that eventually required surgery. Despite that, he still managed to hit .342/.415/.493 between the FCL and Palm Beach before being shut down.
This season, the 23-year-old has primarily manned center field, appearing in 26 games there and two in left, all without committing an error across 223 innings. The organization plans to rotate him around the outfield alongside fellow prospect Zach Levenson.

Honeyman made his High-A debut Tuesday night, going 1-for-3 with a walk. Unfortunately, in Wednesday’s game, he exited early after appearing to injure his calf while running to first base. The severity of the injury is still unknown, but Honeyman remains a promising prospect to watch once he’s back in Peoria’s lineup.
