I Feel Like I Made The Right Decision: The Tigers Share Another Hezekiah Harris Decision

In a major development on the recruiting trail, Auburn edge rusher commit Hezekiah Harris took his long-anticipated official visit to The Plains over the weekend — and by all accounts, the Tigers have solidified their hold on one of the nation’s top defensive prospects.

“I feel like I made the right decision,” Harris told reporters after wrapping up his visit. “Everything about Auburn — the coaches, the culture, the players — it just feels like home.”

Harris, a 4-star edge rusher from Buford High School in Georgia, committed to Auburn in April over a host of SEC heavyweights, including Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. Despite his early pledge, opposing programs have continued to push hard for the explosive pass-rusher, making this weekend’s official visit a critical checkpoint for Auburn’s 2025 class.

The visit featured extensive time with edge coach Jeremy Garrett and head coach Hugh Freeze, who both reiterated their long-term vision for Harris in the Tigers’ defensive scheme.

“They’re building something special here,” Harris said. “Coach Garrett showed me exactly how I’d be used — standing up off the edge, getting after the quarterback. It fits me perfectly.”

At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, Harris has the physical tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. He racked up 15 sacks and 23 tackles for loss as a junior and has drawn comparisons to recent Auburn standouts like Derick Hall and Jeff Holland.

More importantly for Auburn fans, Harris left little doubt about his commitment status following the visit.

“I know other schools are still calling, but I’m locked in,” he said. “I’m recruiting for Auburn now.”

Harris is expected to return to campus for a game this fall and could enroll early in January. With his pledge holding strong, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class continues to gain momentum and now sits firmly inside the top 10 nationally.

For Auburn, keeping Harris in the fold is not just a win on the recruiting trail — it’s a statement of intent.
