Two Former Sooner Softball Stars Lead Heavy Hitters Softball Camp for Youth in Denison

DENISON, TX – Young softball players in Denison had a special opportunity to learn from two of the best as former Oklahoma Sooners softball stars hosted the Heavy Hitters Softball Camp over the weekend. The camp, designed to develop young athletes’ skills and knowledge of the game, featured hands-on instruction from the decorated former Sooners, who brought their championship experience to the field.

Leading the camp were two standout players from the University of Oklahoma’s storied softball program, known for their dominance in collegiate softball. With multiple national titles between them, the former Sooners emphasized fundamentals, advanced techniques, and the mental aspects of the game.

Held at Denison’s local softball complex, the camp welcomed players of all skill levels, focusing on hitting, fielding, pitching, and base-running drills. The athletes received personalized coaching, participated in competitive drills, and engaged in Q&A sessions with the former Sooners, who shared insights from their collegiate careers.

“We just want to give back to the game that gave us so much,” one of the camp leaders said. “Watching these young players grow and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding.”

Parents and participants praised the camp for its structured training and inspirational atmosphere. Many young athletes left the field motivated, eager to apply the lessons learned from two of the game’s greats.
